“You Should…”

“You should...” is a series of three photos I took in response to comments people receive on a daily basis. These comments are thought to be harmless and caring in nature by the person giving them, but they could be taken a different way from the person receiving them.

I wanted to have my artist statement with the photos, so I created a magazine spread.

I included repeating text elements and distortion to give a visual representation of how people may feel receiving these comments.
